Data.anatomy (civic) Instalation

RYOJI IKEDA
Berlin
WOOOOWWWWWW!
Inspired by data used in making the Honda Civic car, Japanese artist Ryoji Ikeda has realized his latest audio-visual installation.

Three massive screens fill a Berlin gallery, playing footage that reveals the inner complexities of data used in building Civic cars. Their operating systems are comprised of thousands of tiny technical parts, which when displayed together in this setting have an ephemeral, transfixing effect.

Metal Mesch Art

Ridiculously beautiful.

Ephemeral Portraits Cut from Layers of Wire Mesh by Seung Mo Park wire sculpture portraits art
Korean sculptor Seung Mo Park creates giant ephemeral portraits by cutting layer after layer of wire mesh. Each work begins with a photograph which is superimposed over layers of wire with a projector, then using a subtractive technique Park slowly snips away areas of mesh. Each piece is several inches thick as each plane that forms the final image is spaced a few finger widths apart, giving the portraits a certain depth and dimensionality that’s hard to convey in a photograph.

My favorites:

PS. The cafeteria was a sad design tale though.

Rosenbaum's Home in Sao Paulo

Because I already saw it 3 times online in magazines and blogs, the contrast and use of materials are fantastic!

Paulo Mendes da Rocha

Everyone is talking Brazil. Brasil.
I remember riding my bike on the weekends to visit my friend Camila and would always pass bye one of my favorite buildings in our neighborhood: MUBE (Museu Brasileiro da Escultura).
Maybe it is my dire obsession with concrete buildings and geometrical forms. simplicity.

Street Art

There is no question of my fascination with street art. Especially when you have the urge to touch it, take a second look and question it.
Tape art. good stuff.

Wunderkammer

According to wikipedia:

"A cabinet of curiosities was an encyclopedic collection in Renaissance Europe of types of objects whose categorical boundaries were yet to be defined. They were also known by various names such as Cabinet of Wonder, and in German Kunstkammer ("art-room") or Wunderkammer ("wonder-room").

Rossana Orlandi

She is incredible. the gallery is fabulous.no wonder i love it so much. from the garden, to a glass of wine: considering she showcases some of my favorite like Jamie Hayon and Jasper Morrison I can't help but to say this is one of my favorite places in Milano.

Interesting to see this connection with the Wunderkammer concept. The mixture of the exotic, the absurd, the exquisite art is always fascinating to be displayed. A beautiful visual mix.
